Dear Chenery Upper Elementary (CUE) School Families and Students,
Thank you for your interest in CUE PTO After School Extracurriculars (ASE).
The CUE PTO Extracurriculars provide an opportunity for CUE students of all grades and interests to enjoy low-key, non-graded classes after the school day. These classes are led by CUE teachers/staff/aides. The program is coordinated by PTO volunteers and all funds generated go directly to the CUE PTO to support school priorities.
The Spring 2024 session of PTO Extracurriculars will begin during the week of April 22nd and will run for 6 weeks (please check the schedule in your confirmation for specific meeting dates). Registration for the Spring session is closed. Please check back in early September 2024 for the Fall 2024 extracurriculars session!
If you have questions specific to an Extracurricular, please contact the instructor.
If you are looking for the afterschool clubs run directly by the school, you can find more information on the Chenery website.
Want to join our team? We’re looking for help with PTO Extracurricular management tasks. We’d love to have your help!

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES (acceptance required for registration)
Registration
Registration for CUE Extracurriculars is done online on a first-come, first-serve basis. Payment via Mastercard or VISA is required at the time of registration, unless financial assistance is being requested (see below). Once an activity is full, a student may register for the waitlist which will be used in the event of cancellations by earlier registrants. Payment is not required to be put on the waitlist.
Cancellations of Sessions
In the unfortunate case of cancellation of a session, parents will be notified by e-mail and an announcement will be made at the start of the school day for students. In the event that school is closed or lets out early due to inclement weather, ASE activities for that day will be cancelled. Every effort will be made to schedule a make-up session at the convenience of the instructor.
Financial Assistance (FA)
Financial Assistance (FA) is available to families who are on record with Chenery Upper Elementary School as having demonstrated financial need. Eligible students can receive FA for one extracurricular per session. If you would like your child to be considered for FA, please indicate this on the online registration form. All FA requests will be forwarded to the Chenery Administration who determines eligibility. If the administration is not yet aware of your financial need, you should be prepared and willing to present documentation to demonstrate eligibility. Decisions will be made within five days after the registration period closes. If your request for FA is denied, you will be given the opportunity to pay for the extracurricular or cancel your registration.
Refunds
No refunds will be given after the registration period has closed, unless a class is cancelled.
Student Arrival & Dismissal
Students are responsible for getting to the PTO Extracurriculars on their own. They should wait outside the designated classrooms until the start time. If your student attends BASEC@Chenery, they should check in there first, BEFORE going to the PTO Extracurriculars. Students are dismissed on their own at the end of the activity. Please note that it is difficult to obtain entrance to the school after 3:30PM, so plan your pick-ups accordingly.
Student Behavior
Students must participate in the PTO Extracurriculars they attend and must behave in a manner that does not disrupt learning by other students. Students who do not exhibit appropriate behavior may be disenrolled from a club without refund and will not be allowed to participate in future PTO Extracurriculars.
Eligibility
The Chenery PTO ASEs are designed to provided enrichment and community-building opportunities for CUE School students. In some cases, we can also support Belmont students who are home-schooled or have out of district placements. Parents should contact the Chenery PTO Extracurriculars committee at cheneryptoclubs@gmail.com to determine if their student can be successful in PTO Extracurriculars.
